Edu’s ready to seize chance

MAURICE EDU is hoping that November will provide him with the chance to consolidate a starting place in the Rangers midfield.

The 22-year-old made only his second start of the season in Tuesday night’s Co-operative Insurance Cup defeat of Hamilton.

But with tomorrow’s visit of Inverness kicking of a hectic November in which Gers will be in action on seven SPL occasions Ibrox gaffer Walter Smith will be forced to rotate his squad.

And Edu is hoping to seize any opportunity coming his way.

He said: “We have seven games rolling up in November starting with Inverness at Ibrox tomorrow and for us at Rangers the motivation has to be to go out there and win each game.

“We will take each one on its own merits and try and pick up as many points as possible.

“Hopefully that also means the manager will look to utilise his full squad and with a bit of luck that will provide an opportunity for me.

“I thought I put in a pretty good showing against Hamilton on Tuesday. There are still parts of my game I can improve upon but I did what I could to help the team and we got the result we were after and now we have a semi-final to look forward to.”
