In his career as a soccer player, he’s flown thousands of miles to locations as exotic as South Africa, China, Switzerland and Cuba, yet Maurice Edu rates a bus ride as one of the most memorable experiences of his life.
In Scotland, teams travel to road matches by bus — a luxury coach with plasma TVs, it must be said — and such was the mode of transportation that took Glasgow Rangers home on May 24 after a 3-0 thumping of Dundee United at Tannadice Park to clinch its first league title in four years. One of the goals came from a free kick won by Edu when he was fouled just outside the penalty area.

Michael Warchol: Are you going to start next year for Rangers or are they looking for a more veteran player?
Mo: I think they’re just looking for the best man for the job. So I’m just trying to take the momentum from the end of last season into next year and try and get in the lineup again.
Thomas Briones-Soupcoff: How are you feeling and how did surgery go my friend?
Mo: Hey surgery went well and all parties involved were happy with the result. Now is the annoying part as I’m on crutches for 4-6 weeks and out for possibly 3 months but I’ll get some time to go home and see my family for a little bit so…

Maurice Edu’s injury, which was suffered in Ranger’s final match of the season and kept the 23-year-old out of Bob Bradley’s side in Costa Rica, will keep the midfielder out of action for at least three months.
Andy Williams, a renowned London based surgeon, carried out a successful surgery to heal damaged ligament in Edu’s knee.
The news comes as an added blow to U.S. National Team fans after the crushing 3-1 loss to Costa Rica on Wednesday night. Bradley’s side will now have to face a busy schedule without one of its most accomplished central midfielders.
Edu will be out of action until at least September and will not take part in either the Confederations Cup or the Gold Cup and could…

Edu started and went the full 90 minutes while striker DaMarcus Beasley was left off of the gameday roster.
Needing a victory to clinch their first league title since 2005, the Light Blues attacked the Arabs from the opening whistle and netted their first goal in the sixth minute.
A falling Kris Boyd managed to cross to Kyle Lafferty who slotted the ball past United goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska to put Rangers on the scoreboard.
The Northern Irishman’s goal woke up the hosts and sparked United to wrestle…

Q: Hey mate, How are you enjoying the run in the team? You’ve deserved it. The fans appreciate your determined attitude, not to mention the goals you’ve scored. Keep up the good work mate. We Are the People! Jamie, Glasgow
Mo Edu: Hey Jamie I appreciate the compliments. Its definitely been good to be out there involved and what’s more important is we’ve won the games. I’ve been fortunate to get my name on the scoresheet a couple times which is nice as well. Hopefully we can continue this form and go on to the win the double.
